Angelo RC Inc. is an AMA Sanctioned site (Club ID#2444) and a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the development and maintenance of public park lands for the specific purpose to further the avocation of Model Radio Controlled Aircraft.
Angelo RC Inc is located in San Angelo State Park (4682 Arden Rd., San Angelo, TX) which is in West Central Texas and enjoys a year round flying season. We have over 20 members that cover every age and aspect of model aviation from small electric park flyers to turbine jets.
San Angelo is located approximately 90 miles South of Abilene, TX and is less than 3 1/2 hours from Austin, San Antonio, Fort Worth and Lubbock.
The TINY Indoor Fly-In is a two day indoor event and is held on the first weekend in March. It features some fun contests such as the balloon pop, fast delta race, night fly and last man standing. We also have demonstrations from some of the best pilots in the country! It also offers an enormous amount of open time for all flyers. The event is held in the San Angelo Coliseum, which is a 100′ x 200′ venue with a 65′ ceiling.
The Annual Outdoor Fly-In is a three day event held on the second weekend of October and usually draws 50+ flyers from all over the state, New Mexico and Oklahoma. It has been well attended over the past 40 years and is a “Bring anything, fly anything” event held at the Angelo RC Inc Airfield at San Angelo State Park. Pilots are also allowed to sell their extra equipment and planes at this event. We offer dry camping, concessions, a great raffle and the best hospitality anywhere!
Both these events charge a small landing fee per day and all pilots must have a current AMA membership. Both events are free for spectators.
